Tom was with the Chambersburg Fire Department for 8 years and had 31 total years as a fire fighter. He was Fire Chief in Mifflin for a number of years. As a matter of fact the first fire he fought as Fire Chief was his own home. He had many awards.

He is survived by his wife‚ Nora Lou Blessing; two daughters‚ Rhoda Wagner and Michele Blessing (fire fighter) and one son‚ Russell Blessing (fire fighter). He is also survived by three grandchildren Samantha Blessing (a junior fire fighter)‚ Elizabeth Blessing‚ and Gary Wagner (fire fighter) as well as one great grandchild‚ Hannah Wagner.

He was a good fire fighter and an even better grandfather. He is greatly missed.
