Ty Voth was born August 14, 1996. He was a second-generation firefighter. He knew at a young age that he wanted to follow in the footsteps of his dad and uncle.
Ty was an avid outdoorsman. If he had a weekend off, you could find him in either his duck blind or deer blind. He also loved hunting Kansas pheasants and quail. The first time his sister drove his truck after he passed, she hit a deer. We like to say it was Ty getting the first and only deer of the season. He was very competitive. When hunting season was over, he would be fishing. This kid never stopped.
Ty loved his family and friends and often put others first. From checking on his best buddy’s newborn after a violent storm knocked out electricity and downed trees to chasing a frog out of his sister’s garage, Ty was the one to call.
Ty was a natural born leader, and we dream of what might have been if he wasn’t taken so soon. Ty died doing what he loved and wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. While Ty is loved and missed by so many, his legacy lives on through his fire family at Station 5, Squad 5.
