Walter H. Gass‚ 74‚ a 12-year member and captain with the Sealy Volunteer Fire Department‚ died on January 27‚ 2000‚ when he collapsed from smoke inhalation and burns while fighting a house fire. He was Sealy Volunteer Fire Department’s Firefighter of the Year.
