Senator Paul Sarbanes Scholarship

Scholarship Recipient

Cameron Gerace

Major: Fire Science - Administration
Academic Scholarship Years:
Son of
Cameron Gerace

Cameron is currently a senior in high school. He plans to attend the University of New Haven where he will pursue his bachelor’s degree in Fire Science and Administration. Cameron shares that receiving a scholarship for his academics and books will allow him to shift some of his saved funds to cover other costs while attending school enabling him to graduate completely, or almost completely debt free.

He is an Explorer in his local volunteer fire department where he attends weekly drill nights on Monday to learn to become a firefighter and has been doing so since January 2020. Cameron also serves as an Assistant Master Carpenter for his high school’s stage crew where he assists in building sets for the school’s plays.

Retired Firefighter Thomas Murray writes, “I have known Cameron for approximately 5 years after meeting him at the NFFF’s Hal Bruno Comfort Zone Kids Camp. He is curious by nature and is always trying to better himself. Cameron has grown and matured immensely and by awarding him this scholarship, you will be investing in our future.”
