Finlay says that his career aspirations after receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, is wanting to travel internationally to work with companies on their strategies and pursuits. He is a first time scholarship applicant and credits his father’s dedicated service and dedication as his inspiration to pursue a career that will make a meaningful impact. A scholarship

His volunteer work includes volunteering as part of the alumni team for the Gary Sinise Foundation which provides mentorship and support to new and existing families of fallen firefighters. In addition, Finlay plans to volunteer with numerous community events in the coming months for the same organization.

Lee House, retired Lieutenant for Albuquerque Fire Department, describes Finlay as polite, outgoing, personable and dynamic who devotes the majority of his extra time to his studies and possesses the same dedication and work ethic as his father did while in the fire service. A longtime family friend, Sarah Barker, says that Finlay has demonstrated that he can excel individually while also elevating those around him through his enthusiasm and willingness to support others and will undoubtedly make meaningful contributions in his future endeavors.
