Scholarship Recipient

Keara Page

Major: Cognitive Neuroscience
Academic Scholarship Years:
Daughter of
Keara Page

Keara Page is studying cognitive neuroscience, with the goal of joining a fire department and putting her skills and knowledge to work to serve neurodivergent citizens. She describes Union College as “the school of my dreams” and values the hands-on, personalized education there.

Keara lives in a service-themed house at school, where she is involved in supporting the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Registry by organizing drives and doing outreach. As a member of the women’s volleyball team, she is a model and mentor for other young women athletes.

Coach Annie DeLoid describes Keara as a leader on the team, a hard worker in the classroom, and a mentor to those who struggle. Lowell FD Lt. Patrick McCabe says that Keara goes above and beyond what is required, to bring as many skills as she can to her work and that any department would be “exceptionally lucky” to have her as an employee.

Keara’s previous scholarships were made possible with support from the
Motorola Solutions Foundation, MissionSquare Retirement Memorial Scholarship Fund, the National Association of State Fire Marshals, and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
