Rebecca enjoys sports, dance and helping others. She has been consistently involved in sports since she was the age of 2; now in college, she is on the women’s basketball team. Rebecca finds great satisfaction in being one year closer to making her father’s dreams come true by graduating college.
Rebecca has found financial hardship to be a bigger struggle for her family since COVID-19 has begun. She and her mother both were unable to hold their customary summer jobs due to the shutdown. Rebecca looks forward to her return to campus for her senior year just to obtain a sense of normalcy.
Fire Commissioner Deborah Norman shares, “Rebecca maintains more than a 3.0 GPA and enjoys competing in collegiate sports while she continues to be her mother’s right arm helping out at home. She maintains her attendance at her local church and always finds time to volunteer with the Westchester County Habitat for Humanity.”
