Jonathan “Jon” Ivins

Firefighter Jonathan “Jon” Ivins, age 23, died on July 5, 1976, in a helicopter crash during the Kings Canyon Fire in Carson City, Nevada.

He is survived by his parents; his sister Antoinette; and his brothers Erik and Nicholas.

This firefighter line of duty fatality occurred before the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial was built in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
