The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Scholarship Program awarded 56 scholarships totaling $535,609 to fallen firefighters' spouses, children, and stepchildren.
The 2025–2026 scholarship recipients include 38 previous scholarship recipients and 18 first-time recipients. The scholarships are based on applicants’ financial needs and academic performance, emphasizing those studying science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), and public safety.
The NFFF Scholarship Program is made possible by generous donations from Motorola Solutions Foundation, Inc., the Alan Patrick Sondej Scholarship Fund, the Kenneth M. Hedrick Memorial Scholarship Fund, Sander Cohen Memorial Scholarship Fund, and the NFFF partnerships with MissionSquare Retirement, National Association of State Fire Marshals, Burton A. Zipser and Sandra D. Zipser Foundation, Global Health & Safety, the Steel Family’s Fire Engine 5 Charitable Foundation, Ann & Frank Cahouet Foundation, Chief Elwood Banister Memorial Scholarship Fund, and individual donors.
